Cat Chaos
Jemima (a black queen with a white
chest, white patches on her legs, and red on her shoulders, head and other parts of her body) pranced down the sidewalk filled
with joy and happiness (as she always was). Beside her was a fence that looked as if it was about to spontaneously fall apart.
Across the street stood the clock tower that chimed the sound of noon. “Oh
no! Munkustrap is going to eat me alive for being late for lunch again!” Jemima panicked and raced around the corner
of the fence. (Munkustrap is a gray tabby with black stripes that usually watched over the kittens) As she turned the corner
she saw a shadowy figure hiding in the shadows. “Who are you?” she whispered shakily. She saw the figure grin
and then heard it growl,
“Macavity.”
“Macavity!” Jemima
shrieked. She took a step back in fear and whimpered, “Please don’t hurt me, Macavity, sir. I didn’t mean
to cross your path, honestly!”
“It’s to late for
forgiveness!” he roared. Jemima feared what he was going to do, and wished she’d stayed in the junkyard.
>^..^<
Munkustrap paced back and fourth
in the junkyard, while Bombalurina (an attractive red queen, with black stripes, spots and a white chest) admired herself
in the mirror. “Where is Jemima? The other kittens came for lunch 15 minutes
ago!” Munkustrap questioned with worry.
“I am so, hot!” Bombalurina
purred gazing into the mirror, “Mirror, mirror on the, um, dresser, who is the best looking of them all?”
“Bombalurina, are you listening
to me?!” Munkustrap hissed.
“Wha? Oh, of course. I’m
listening.” She answered turning to him and taking her repose. For a moment,
Munkustrap fell into a gaze of her beauty, but quickly shook it off.
“We must find Jemima!”
Munkustrap declared.
“No, you must find dainty
little Jemima, I have a date to get ready for.” She purred.
“Bombalurina, you always
have a date with a tom. Who is it now? Alonzo? Pouncival? Mistoffolees, perhaps?”
Munkustrap sighed.
“NO! The Rum Tum Tugger.”
She smiled. Munkustrap rolled his eyes and thought,
“She obviously can’t
pick decent guys.” Munkustrap raced out of the junkyard in search of Jemima.
>^..^<
Jemima was in Macavity’s
grip and couldn’t seem to escape his wrath. “Macavity, put her down!” a serious voice roared from behind.
Macavity turned round to see his next victim. Jemima was being held up by her throat. She began to turn a very pale colour.
“Put her down, NOW!” Munkustrap roared again. Macavity grinned evilly.
“What damage could you possibly
do?” Macavity laughed. Munkustrap soared at Macavity, but was immediately shoved to the ground. “You see? A useless battle you are trying to start.”
Macavity sighed, swaying his head from side to side. Munkustrap did an ambush punch right into Macavity’s gut.
He let out a cry of pain and held his gut. A vicious fight emerged. Jemima laid
on the ground stunned. After a few minutes of fighting, Macavity growled, “What a pathetic Battle! You couldn’t
even defeat a Peke!” and then slunk back into the shadows. Munkustrap rushed over to aid Jemima. He carried her over to a puddle near the curb and splashed water onto her face to revive her. Her eyes
twitched and opened with a little groan.
“Jemima, are you alright?”
Munkustrap asked concerned.
“Uhhh…I-I think so…”
Jemima groaned rubbing the back of her head. Munkustrap hugged her with happiness.
“Would you like me to carry
you?” he asked.
“No, I’ll be fine.”
>^..^<
When the two arrived at the junkyard,
they saw Bombalurina sitting on the top of the old red car. She seemed very impatient. “Where the hell is the Tugger?”
she yelled.
“Oh the Tugger, where?”
Jemima asked excitedly. The Tugger had what people called his “little fan club” that consists of kittens that
adore his charm, and Jemima, was one of those kittens.
“The Tugger is not coming
for you, you nit wit! We’re going on a date.” Bombalurina growled. Just as she said it, the Tugger walked in.
“Hey babe.” He mewed
kissing her on the cheek. She pulled away, crossed her arms and turned her back to him.
“Oh no, now what have I done?” the Tugger sighed.
“You’re late for our
date!” Bombalurina hissed.
“I’m sorry. I had
to groom so I could make a good impression.” He explained.
“I’ll let you away
with it this time…”she smiled. Munkustrap shook his head and sighed. Jemima looked up at him and asked,
“What’s wrong?”
“Those two, always flirting
with someone.”
“Yeah but, perhaps they’ll
fall in love?” Jemima smiled.
“I bet you’re right.”
Munkustrap agreed. Jemima and Munkustrap went to find Old Deuteronomy (the Jellicle
leader) to report what happened. Old Deuteronomy sighed,
“Why can’t Macavity
just leave our kittens alone? Sometimes. It gets to the point where he actually kills them…” Jemima pulled on
Munkustrap’s arm. He looked down at her and asked,
“What is it?”
“Monkey, I’m hungry.”
“For the last time, my names
not Monkey!”
“Sorry Monkey, I mean Munkustrap.”
“Alright, I’ll get
you something to eat.” He took Jemima by the hand and led her back to the old red car. Munkustrap looked up at the car
and saw the Tugger kissing Bombalurina’s shoulder. She seemed amused. “Bombalurina, I need to ask you a favor.”
Munkustrap called.
“That is, IT! You act like
a nuisance when I’m admiring myself in the mirror, you bother me to help you find Jemima, and now your disrupting my
date! GOD MAN! HAVE SOME DECENCY!” She hissed.
“Well sorry, god!”
Munkustrap sarcastically snapped trying to mimic her attitude. “Could you please watch Jemima while I find her some
lunch?” Munkustrap asked.
”Fine…”she
sighed.
“Thank- you.” Munkustrap
grinned putting Jemima up on the car beside Bombalurina. “I’ll be back soon, behave Jemima.” Munkustrap
called as he ran to find Jemima some food. Jemima squealed with excitement of
being with the Tugger. His furry main, slender body and leopard spots would probably make any young queen get excited.
“Yeah! Rumy Tumy Tugger!”
Jemima cheered hugging the Tugger. Bombalurina rolled her eyes, and turned the other way. The Tugger knew she was obviously
jealous. He pulled her into the hug and smirked,
“Don’t worry Bomba,
we’ll have kittens of our own to deal with one day.” She tried to imagine the Tugger being a father, but it made
her laugh. “What? What are you laughing about?”
“Um… no reason…”
she giggled trying to stop laughing.
“You don’t think I
could be a father!”
“I didn’t say that!”
“No, no, no, you don’t
think I can reproduce! Well, I’ll show you!”
“Wait, wait, wait, one step
at a time there tiger!” He glared at her. Jemima was quiet confused, considering
she was only a kitten.
“You know, we shouldn’t
be talking about this around a kitten.” The Tugger explained.
“Hey, you started it!”
Bombalurina snapped.
“I’m hungry!”
Jemima sobbed.
“Oh, don’t cry!”
Bombalurina cooed as she picked Jemima up and put her on her lap. She stroked Jemima’s head. The Tugger watched them
intently.
“Jemima come! I got you
some food!” Munkustrap called.
“Coming!” she called
back, “Thank-you Bombalurina.” She thanked, and then ran off to meet Munkustrap. Bombalurina watched Jemima run
off and shook her head smiling.
“You wouldn’t make
to bad of a mom.” the Tugger nodded.
“So much for her date, huh?”
“I wouldn’t say that…”
the Tugger said coming closer. Bombalurina looked away and tried to cover your smile. “Please don’t cover your
smile, I think a beauty should never be hidden.” The Tugger said taking her hand.
“Your really lousy at trying
to impress me.” Bombalurina smiled again.
“Yeah I know.” The
Tugger sighed trying to sound sad. Bombalurina laughed. A sudden thud was heard. “What was that?” the Tugger asked.
“I don’t know.”
Bombalurina whispered fearfully. An evil laugh erupted from the silents. Macavity jumped on the car thinking Jemima was there.
“Where’s Jemima?”
he hissed. When he saw Bombalurina he cooed, “Well, well, well, I see that they actually have an attractive cat in their
tribe!” She glared at him.
“Wait, you can’t possibly
tell me that your going on a date with that, that tom?!” Macavity laughed.
“What’s wrong with
being me?” The Tugger snapped. Macavity just laughed.
“You
have no business here, leave!” Bombalurina ordered.
“Well, why don’t you
come with me? You would probably be happier there?” Macavity offered holding out a cold, black paw.
“I don’t think so!”
Bombalurina disagreed shaking a finger at him. Macavity was about to slash her throat, when he thought he heard Munkustrap
coming. He made a mad dash for the hole in the fence.
“Yeah, you better run, and
don’t come back!” the Tugger shouted when he was sure Macavity was gone.
“Oh, how brave…”
Bombalurina cooed and hugged him.
“You really think so?”
the Tugger asked.
“Of course not! You couldn’t
hurt a fly!” Bombalurina laughed.
>^..^<
Jemima burped. She had just finished
her lunch. Thank-you Munkustrap for the lunch.” Jemima smiled sweetly.
“I could have sworn I saw
Macavity.” Munkustrap said to himself.
“Can I go play with the
other kittens?” Jemima asked.
“Yes, but be careful, Macavity
could be anywhere.” Munkustrap warned. Jemima nodded and then ran off. “Perhaps I should go see the Tugger and
Bombalurina. See how they’re doing.” Munkustrap decided. He walked
over to the red car, but to his surprise, they weren’t there. “Hmmm, where could they be? Perhaps on their date?”
He decided to go for a walk to the field. On his walk he saw Bombalurina and the Tugger sun bathing in the field. He cocked
an eyebrow with suspicion. He stayed low to the ground and crept slowly towards them. He flinched when Bombalurina stretched
out, scratched her leg and began to doze off again. When he was close enough
to them he yelled, “BOO!” Both of them jumped up in fright.
“Munkustrap!” Bombalurina
hissed.
“You flea bag!” the
Tugger growled.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t
help it!” Munkustrap laughed. Bombalurina stood up, huffed angrily and walked away agitatedly.
.
“Aw! Munkustrap! You made
me loose my date! She was good looking too!” the Tugger snapped angrily.
“Sorry Tugger, it wasn’t
my intentions honestly.” Munkustrap exclaimed, “My deepest apology.”
“That doesn’t change
the fact that my date just walked out on me!” the Tugger hissed.
“Well, you still have your
little fan club right?” Munkustrap reminded trying to wiggle his way out of the situation.
“To tell you truth, my fan
club interrupts me at the most inappropriate times! But other then that, I can’t get enough of them!”
“Well, perhaps, you can’t
hold onto a relationship because of your fan club?”
“NO! That can’t be
it!”
“Tugger, you can’t
run away from the truth.” The Tugger knew, Munkustrap was probably right…
>^..^<
Bombalurina hadn’t left
the date because of the Tugger; she had left because of Munkustrap. She disliked being embarrassed. She left to find her best
friend Demeter. Demeter was a gold and Black teenaged kitten with a white chest (As do Bombalurina and Jemima) “Bomba,
I’m sure Munkustrap didn’t mean to embarrass you.” Demeter sadly explained.
“Oh, sure, stick up for
your boy-friend!” Bombalurina hissed with anger.
“I’m not defending
him, I’m just-”
“Be quiet!’
“Jezz sorry, all I did was-”
“I said be quiet!”
“Would you let me finish
a freaking sentence!?”
“I just did. I am somewhat
over reacting, aren’t I?”
“SOMEWHAT?”
“Don’t push me Demeter!”
>^..^<
The Tugger had left Munkustrap’s
presents to find Bombalurina. When he caught her eye, she looked the other way. The Tugger flattened his ears. “Tugger,
it’s not you it’s her.” Demeter whispered to him as she walked by him.
“Bomba, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry? It wasn’t
you who scared me to death.”
“OH, then, why are you treating
me like dirt?”
“Because I’m angry,
but no at you.”
“Oh, I see. Is our date
cancelled?”
“No.”
>^..^<
Jemima scampered to where her
friends usually played. On her way, she was stopped by two cats, Alonzo (A well built white and black male) and Pouncival
(A brown, black and mostly white male). “Hey Jemima, where ya going?”
Poncival asked.
“I’m going to play
with my friends!” she answered excitedly.
“That’s great. Jemima,
have you seen Bombalurina?” Pouncival asked.
“UH, yeah! She was with
the Tugger at the old red car!” she answered then continued her search for her friends.
“Pounce, she’s to
old for you…” Alonzo sighed shaking his head.
“I don’t care.”
Pouncival grinned.
“Besides, I’m gonna
ask her.” Alonzo smirked. Pouncival glared at him,
“Oh really?” Pouncival
asked shooting Alonzo a challenging look.
>^..^<
The Tugger decided that he would
make it up to Bombalurina by taking her around the town. “So, Bomba, where would you like to go?”
“I don’t know. I never
really thought about it.” She shrugged.
“Why don’t we go to
the abandoned construction site?”
“Why on earth would I wanna
go there?”
“Because, it’s dark
and nobody would disrupt us there.” He smirked darkley.
“Alright, lets go!”
she smiled.
>^..^<
“Where have you been, Jemima?”
Victoria a white angora kitten asked.
“Yeah, we got worried about
you!” Electra the black, red and brown Tortishell added.
“Macavity attacked me.”
Jemima frowned.
“He did? Are you alright?”
Etcetera the American shorthair kitten asked concerned.
“Yes, I’m ok.”
Jemima smiled glad that she was.
“Well, now that you’re
here, lets play!” Mistoffolees, (the Black and white shorthair) announced.
“I say we ambush the Tugger!”
Electra suggested.
“Nope, can’t do that!”
Jemima giggled.
“Why not?” Victoria
asked.
“Because, he’s on
a date with Bombalurina.” Jemima replied.
“Dang that Bombalurina!”
Victoria growled angrily.
“Yeah, she’s always
stealing the toms!” Etcetera complained.
“Should I really be in the
middle of all this?” Mistoffolees chuckled.
“No, I guess not.”
Electra agreed.
>^..^<
The Tugger guided Bombalurina
to the abandoned construction site. The humans had been too lazy to tear it down. “Lazy humans, eh Bomba?”
The Tugger asked.
“Yeah, lazy, right.”
She answered nervously.
“Is, something wrong?”
the Tugger questioned.
“Huh? Oh, no, no. I’m
fine, really.”
“Bomba, I know there’s
something wrong, and I want to know what.”
“Well, do you really think
it’s safe in there? I mean, what if Macavity’s in there?”
“Don’t worry your
pretty little tail.” The Tugger laughed.
“I don’t find any
of this funny.” She frowned.
Seriously though, don’t
worry, I’ll protect you.”
“I feel so much better.”
She whispered as the Tugger led her into the building.
>^..^<
Alonzo and Pouncival raced to
the car. When they arrived, Bombalurina and the Tugger weren’t there. “Where could they be?” Alonzo panted.
“You mean, where is she.”
Pouncival corrected.
“Whatever!”
“I vote, we go look for
her!”
“ I guess…”
Alonzo sighed and raced after Pounival. On their they met up with a shadowy figure.
What’s your hurry?”
it asked them.
“None of your business.”
Pouncival growled.
“Oh, really?” Macavity
growled stepping into the light. The two screamed and in fear ran back to the safety of the junkyard. Macavity laughed, and
returned to his hideout. He had done enough for one day.
>^..^<
The Tugger unlocked the front
door and pulled Bombalurina in. “You know, this place isn’t so bad.” Bombalurina decided.
“I told you.” The
Tugger replied, “I told you not to worry.
“I never should have doubted
you!” He guided her up many staircases. “Whoa, there sure is a lot of stairs.” Bombalurina complained. “Don’t
worry, it will pay off soon.” He smiled.
“What the heck is that suppose
to mean?” she thought to herself. When they finally reached the top of the final staircase, the Tugger opened a door.
The knob of it looked as if it was about to fall off right there and then. Bombalurina felt relived when he opened the door.
She sat down and let out a sigh of relief.
“Come here. I want to show
you something.” The Tugger purred holding out a hand. She took his hand and he led her to the edge of the roof.
“Oh, wow! That’s absolutely
beautiful!” Bombalurina gasped astonished. In the distance was the sunset reflecting off the ocean. The sky was a warm
golden colour while the ocean was bright orange. Ether way, she thought it to wonderful. The Tugger came up from behind and
hugged her,
“So, do you like it?”
he asked.
“Do I like it? I love it!
It’s absolutely beautiful!” she exclaimed.
“I’m glad you love
it, because, I love you too.”
“You mean, you love it too.”
“No, I love you too.”
She gazed into his eyes to see what he had to offer. “Now, you think I wouldn’t be a good father?” he snapped.
“Oh Tugger, you ruined the
moment. Please don’t get into that again…”
“NO, I want my dignity back!”
“Then just drop it!”
“I can’t just walk
away like nothing happened!”
“Tugger, I don’t know
how well of a father you would be, and honestly, I don’t really care.” He stared at her for the longest time then
exhaled,
“You truly have the best
way of saying things. “
“Well, you come up with
the dumbest arguments!”
“Yes I do don’t I?”
He looked at her for several seconds
before spontaneously kissing her.
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!”
She hissed backing away.
“I couldn’t help it,
I had an urge!”
“Tugger, you stay away from
me!” she hissed and started walking towards the stairs.
“Please don’t go I’m
sorry.” He apologized stepping in front of her.
“No you’re not, you’re
just sorry that you got in trouble for doing it!”
“True, true, but-”
“No buts, now out of my
way!”
“Please don’t go angry.”
“Fine, I’ll leave
furious!” she hissed. She pushing him out of the way and walking down the stairs.
“Oh crap!” the Tugger
snapped. He then ran down the stairs. When he caught up to her he pleaded, “Please don’t go, I’ll be good!”
“Look, just because I’m
stunning, doesn’t mean I’m stupid!”
“Come on, we can ever just
go back to the red car and do something there, please?”
“Aw! Fine! God, you never
give up do you!” she hissed. When they arrived, Bombalurina up on the car and began to groom herself.
“Are you still mad?”
the Tugger asked.
“Yes…”
“Are you gonna be mad for
a long time?”
“Yes…”
“Are you gonna be mad for
a really, really long time?”
“Uh! For god sakes Tugger!
If I’m gonna be mad for a long time don’t you think I would be mad for a really, really long time? Use some common
sense!”
She laid down and took a deep
breath. She looked up at the sky that was now beginning to fill up with stars. The Tugger used Bombalurina’s stomach
as a pillow and laid down. She didn’t mind; he was behaving.
>^..^<
Jemima yawned. She was tired and
knew it as time to go home. She slowly made her way back to her house where her pet lived (Her human) and went through the
cat door. And collapsed on her pink pillow and fell asleep.
>^..^<
Munkustrap was looking around
the Junkyard to see if any kittens had fallen asleep before making it back to their homes. As he passed the car he saw Bombalurina
and the Tugger sleeping. He smiled and laughed, “Jemima was right.”
